📜 This Week in Indiana History 📜
President Benjamin Harrison Is Inaugurated (1889)
This week in Indiana history, we celebrate the only individual from Indiana to be elected President of the United States. On March 4, 1889, Hoosier Benjamin Harrison was inaugurated as the 23rd President. He was a lawyer, a Civil War veteran, a former senator, and the grandson of William Henry Harrison.
After winning the 1888 election against the incumbent president Grover Cleveland, Harrison traveled to the U.S. Capitol on a cold, rainy day… and the weather did little to dampen the importance of his election. In his speech, he talked about national unity, economic development, and the importance of maintaining a strong and fair federal government.
Though he was only president for one term (he was defeated by Grover Cleveland in the 1892 election), his time as our nation’s leader was an immense sense for Hoosier pride, as one of our own reached the highest level of government and leadership.

AES Purchased in $33.4 Billion Deal
On Monday this week, AES, the parent company of AES Indiana, announced that an agreement for $33.4 billion has been made with domestic and foreign investors. Remembering Notre Dame Football Coach Lou Holtz
Notre Dame announced Wednesday that legendary college football coach Lou Holtz passed away at the age of 89.
A 2008 inductee into the College Football Hall of Fame, Holtz spent 11 seasons of his 33-year coaching tenure with the Fighting Irish, compiling a 100-30-2 record with Notre Dame while winning the 1988 national championship. His 100 wins with the Fighting Irish are third all time in school history behind Brian Kelly (106) and Knute Rockne (105).
Get Indiana extends its condolences to the Holtz family, Notre Dame, and all who were impacted by one of the best college football coaches ever.

🎙 On today's show I sat down with Alex Baker, a marathoner and cancer awareness fundraiser based in Brownsburg, Indiana.
Alex shares the heart-wrenching experience of losing his wife Amanda to colorectal cancer in 2019 and how it inspired him to start 'Ketchup to Cancer,' a movement channeling his love of running and hatred of ketchup and cancer into fundraising for leading cancer research institutions.
From participating in notable marathons like New York in 2023, Chicago and Boston in 2024, and London in 2025, to raising tens of thousands of dollars, Alex's journey is filled with emotion.
Alex also talks about Amanda's spirited 16-month fight against cancer, the extensive treatment process, and how he balanced being a primary parent and caregiver.
