☀️ This week’s INsights

  • 📊 Stat of the Day: Did you know that the Empire State Building, the Pentagon, and the National Cathedral all have something in common?... Indiana. Yep, they were all built with Bedford Limestone. 🪨🪨 This renowned stone was designated Indiana’s official state stone in 1971, and Bedford, a small town south of Bloomington, is known as the "Limestone Capital of the World." Who knew Indiana was out here building America? And still, each year, Indiana produces more than 2 million cubic feet of limestone each year!

Hoosier Headlines

Honoring 9/11 🇺🇸🗽 - Every year, for 23 years, James Clark has been standing on an overpass in Indianapolis waving an American flag on 9/11. He started this tradition only hours after it happened!

He was inspired by a homeless man on TV in D.C. who was crying and waving a flag on a stick. Clark’s an Air Force vet, so now he's out there every year, 5:30 a.m., just waving that flag. He only missed one year while he was battling cancer, but his buddies took over for him. What a crew!

James says we should never forget, especially those 3,000 people who passed that day. So if you saw him yesterday at the 56th Street overpass above I-465, that was our guy James, honoring those we lost.

⛹️‍♀️ Clark Mazia? 🏀 - Indiana basketball fans are out here losing their minds over Caitlin Clark, right? But it’s not just fans going nuts—now, our farms are too.

County Line Orchard in Hobart, went full Clark mania. How? They made a corn maze—in the shape of Caitlin Clark’s face! 🌽

But hey, we love her. She’s killing it, and when you’re that good, you deserve a corn maze.

There’s even a scavenger hunt in the middle of the maze!

Every year they see over 50,000 kids, parents, and teachers. And it’s not just the corn maze—you can pick apples, pumpkins, sunflowers, you name it. They’ve got 23 kinds of apples, everything from your basic Red Delicious to these fancy ones called “SnowSweet.” Sounds good! 🍎🍏

Hattie’s Coffee Shop in Whitestown, a vintage farmhouse has transformed into a caffeine lover’s paradise. ☕ Hattie’s Coffee House, founded by a self-proclaimed dreamer, blends fresh roasted coffee with rustic vibes.

The owner, who describes her journey as a “labor of love” (with a few bumps along the way), fell in love with the property’s magical surroundings—and knew it was meant to be.

Indiana Football Sets Program Record

  • Indiana football straight-up destroyed Western Illinois, 77-3. Yeah, that’s not a typo—77. They set a program record for the most points scored in a game and biggest blowout at Memorial Stadium. It was basically over in the first quarter. The Hoosiers were scoring touchdowns like they were playing Madden on rookie mode. 🏈🏈

  • Coach Cignetti’s was happy with the performance, saying, “We didn’t play down to the competition.” No kidding! By halftime, it was 42-0, and Western Illinois was just happy to finally get a first down. Indiana’s quarterback Kurtis Rourke went 15-for-17, 268 yards, two TDs, and a QB rating of 259.5. That’s basically perfect.
