☀️ This week’s INsights
This week in Indiana History - The University of Notre Dame was granted its official charter from the Indiana General Assembly. An all-male University until 1971, Notre Dame is now world renowned for being one of the best Catholic Universities in the United States.
Although it has great academics, most people know Notre Dame for its athletic programs, especially its storied football program. Since its first season in 1887, the Fighting Irish have won 11 National Championships in its football program alone, and has produced seven Heisman Trophy winners, the most prestigious individual honor in college football.
So while Notre Dame is on the forefront of everyone’s mind as it goes for its 12th national championship on Monday against Ohio State, just understand it couldn’t “wake up the echos” without the General Assembly approving its charter 180 years ago.

⚡ Hoosier Headlines ⚡
Special Flights for Irish Fans - Notre Dame fans, good news: United’s got a special flight from South Bend to Atlanta for the CFP Championship against Ohio State. It’ll cost you over $2,000, but hey, it might be a once in a lifetime opportunity. Delta’s adding an extra return flight too.
South Bend Airport’s breaking records this year with nearly 886,000 passengers, thanks to Irish fans traveling big. They’re aiming for 1 million passengers in 2025—because let’s face it, Notre Dame football keeps this place buzzing.
Pack your lucky socks, grab a ticket, and get ready for Atlanta! Go Irish! 🍀✈️

💎 Hidden Gems 💎
Founded in 1898, it's one of the oldest cultural institutions in the state. What makes RAM unique is its impressive collection of American Impressionist paintings, including works by the Richmond Group, Indiana's earliest art colony dating back to 1870.
Visitors can explore a variety of exhibitions and even participate in art classes and community events. Locals love RAM for its dedication to preserving regional art history and fostering a vibrant arts community. It's not just a museum; it's a testament to the town's rich artistic heritage. Plus, it's conveniently located within the Richmond High School campus, making art accessible to students and the public alike.

The Peru Amateur Circus in Peru, Indiana, is like if “The Greatest Show on Earth” met small-town charm—and it’s amazing. Every summer, local kids put on a full-blown, high-flying circus, complete with trapeze acts, unicycles, and tightropes. These kids are doing things that would send most adults straight to the ER.
Why visit? It’s a fun, wholesome spectacle you won’t find anywhere else. Plus, tickets are super affordable, so you can bring the whole family without breaking the bank.
Locals love it because it’s tradition—this thing’s been going strong since 1960! It’s their pride and joy, and you can feel the heart they put into every performance. If you’re in Indiana in July, you’ve gotta check it out. 🎪
